• About Maya Schwan, Intern (she/her)

As your counselor, my goal is to provide professional care that inspires real-life changes for your mental health and wellbeing. I create an open and safe space to best support the vulnerability and strength that comes with sharing your story. My foundation of trauma-informed care allows me to recognize the effects of trauma in your life and provide a healing path to recovery. I incorporate techniques of Dialectical Behavior Therapy to build skills of mindfulness and emotional regulation. Together, we can understand the influences of your past and plan for a positive future in all aspects of your life.

I am a graduate student currently pursuing my Master’s Degree in Social Work at Arizona State University. I have experience in residential and outpatient counseling as well as community outreach. I have worked with adults and adolescents in both individual and group settings.
