About Amanda Kocher, LPCC (she/her)
Aurora & Virtual Sessions
Hello! I’m Amanda. I wholeheartedly believe in the healing power of therapy, and I also understand how difficult it can be to find a new therapist. So, welcome! I’m glad you’re here.
Therapy is a collaborative process. You are the expert on your life experience, just as I am the expert on mine. My top priority is to create a safe place where you can unmask and be your authentic self. I will meet you with warmth, humor, compassion, and vulnerability. Together, we can navigate the ebbs and flows of life.
My theoretical orientation is rooted in person-centered and relational-cultural therapy philosophies. I take a holistic, strengths-based approach, tailoring my conversational style to each client. I value curiosity, self-expression, creativity, and meaning-making. I believe growth and healing depend upon genuine, mutual connections and a strong therapeutic relationship.
I am passionate about working with individuals struggling to manage their ADHD, suicidality, grief, life transitions, and identity formation. I approach my work through a culturally sensitive, neurodiversity-affirming, and LGBTQIA+-affirming lens.
I hold a B.A. in Psychology from Webster University and an M.A. in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Regis University. My work experience includes suicide prevention, crisis intervention, and co-facilitating an art journaling support group with the Eating Disorder Foundation as a volunteer.
I would be honored to join you on this journey of exploration, introspection, and processing. Thank you for being here!
