About Jenny Riedel, LPC, Internship Coordinator & Clinical Supervisor (she/her)
Arvada & Virtual Sessions
Welcome! You have begun one of the hardest steps; the process of finding a therapist. I have been there, and I know it can be accompanied by anxiety and feeling overwhelmed. My goal is to create safety in order for you to express your individuality. Every unique person has the right to heal in an environment that celebrates individuality and approaches treatment with consideration for the whole person. Suffering happens when we are cut off from this connection to our true selves. This can present as depression, anxiety, addiction, illness, dissatisfaction, unhealthy relationships…and all are invitations to heal, grow, and connect more fully to your authentic self.
I take a holistic approach to my work with clients and believe the key to health lives in the connection between the mind, body, and soul. I do not see a set of symptoms but rather resiliency and an opportunity to develop new skills that support the goals we have identified to work towards together. I incorporate the tenets of the humanistic tradition in my work, but also tailor my approach to a client’s specific needs. I believe you are the expert on your life and that you hold everything you need within yourself. My role is to guide you and join you on this process of discovery. I am passionate about providing a safe, non-judgmental environment in order to support you on your journey of growth and healing. I specialize in working with young adult/adult females who are experiencing depression, anxiety, shame, unresolved trauma, grief, life transitions, spiritual transformations, and codependent and addictive patterns.
I am a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC). I received my Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology from New Mexico State University and my Master’s Degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Regis University. My practice is informed by my background in non-profit work with survivors of sexual abuse and in a substance abuse treatment center. I take a creative approach to therapy that incorporates trauma-informed care, Internal Family Systems, somatic modalities, and other evidence-based interventions. I am trained in EMDR. I look forward to supporting you on your journey!
