• About Carrie Koushyk, LPCC

We all experience moments in our lives where everything is in chaos, we feel disconnected from ourselves, and it feels like we are stumbling through impenetrable darkness. Depression, anxiety, traumatic experiences, and many other mental health conditions can make us feel alone, stuck, and hopeless. My goal is to offer a space in which you can process and work through these difficult moments and to provide hope when you feel isolated in your struggles.

I utilize an integrated approach that includes person-centered, narrative, internal family systems (IFS), and acceptance and commitment therapy (ACT) modalities. I also value creativity and often bring in various creative and experiential interventions into my work. I have a Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology from the University of Northern Colorado and a Master’s Degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Regis University. I also have experience working with individuals struggling with eating disorders and traumatic experiences through my work at Eating Recovery Center and I completed my practicum at IDEA, where I got the opportunity to work with individuals in substance use treatment. I approach working with clients from a non-judgmental lens, taking into account that pain and trauma can manifest in a variety of ways, and look forward to supporting you on the path towards healing.

As I support you on your journey, I aim to provide warmth, hope, and compassion as well as give you the opportunity to be your authentic self. I believe that some of the most powerful change happens when we’re truly heard and seen as we are, and I aspire to take the time to truly understand your unique story. We will work together to identify your specific needs, address any challenges you’re experiencing, and discover new paths you can embark on in the future.

“Your present circumstances don’t determine where you go; they merely determine where you start.” – Nido Qubein
