About Beverly Reimer, Intern (she/her)
Like many of you, my life has had many twists and turns – some of which I anticipated and many of which I did not. During those times, I found enormous help moving through these moments of struggle and overwhelm by seeing a therapist. The positive impact these relationships had on my life is the reason I chose counseling as my profession. I personally know how vulnerable it can feel to revisit trauma, making sense of unwanted memories, unexpected reactions, and lingering emotions. Today I’m acutely aware of how important it was to have a therapist walk through this journey with me, supporting me during my moments of fear, worry, and doubt.
I am currently completing my masters at Naropa University as part of the Mindfulness-Based Counseling program, with a specialized focus on supporting trauma survivors. My approach in counseling is to include the whole-self bringing mind, body, and spirit into the healing process. As a counselor, I seek to understand how our pasts impact our present (and future), trusting that inner wisdom will always help reveal the therapeutic path forward. In working with clients, I regularly use internal family systems, cognitive behavioral therapy, somatic experiencing, meditation and guided visualizations. I happily join Alpine Lakes as an intern to support you as you experience whatever challenges you may be facing. Please always know, I will be with you each step of the way.
