About Melissa May, Intern
Arvada & Virtual Session

Welcome!

I understand how challenging and overwhelming life can be, and I'm here to offer you a safe and compassionate space where you feel heard and understood. I view distress as a result of being disconnected from and not in harmony with our authentic selves. I integrate a holistic lens to therapy and deeply believe in the interconnectedness of the mind, body, and spirit.

In our work together, you can expect a warm, non-judgmental environment where your feelings and experiences are honored and validated. I specialize in working with individuals struggling with trauma and PTSD, depression, anxiety and panic, eating disorders, women's issues, pregnancy/prenatal/postpartum, nervous system dysregulation, and life transitions. I incorporate a humanistic, trauma-focused approach, drawing from Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Internal Family Systems (IFS), Narrative Therapy, and mindfulness practices.

I hold a Bachelor's degree in Early Childhood Education from the University of Alaska Anchorage and I am currently completing my Master's Degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling at Regis University. I have experience working with individuals struggling with eating disorders through my work at the Eating Disorder Foundation. I am passionate about creating a safe space for you to be your authentic self and to walk alongside you on your journey. Together, we can create a path towards personal growth, resilience, and healing.
